With prayerful consideration and heavy hearts we have decided to cancel Sonlight 2020 summer youth camps.
We have been working diligently over the past two months to discern how Sonlight should navigate offering our excellent summer camp experience while keeping our kids as safe as possible. We have had many conversations, missions to gather new information, too many Zoom calls, and much prayerful consideration. In light of these, we have discerned that Sonlight cannot offer our campers a program that includes both proper safeguards against the coronavirus and the robust, unique culture that makes Sonlight a place that kids call “home.”
We will be here in 2021! The program staff are working on ways to stay connected to campers through the summer. We will continue to uphold our mission in this current environment.
The Sonlight leadership team has confirmed with local regulatory agencies that we can offer mini family camps and comply with regulations. This is your chance! Sonlight routinely is asked about family camps- so this is the summer! More information on the link below.
We know that everyone has been financially impacted by COVID-19 in different ways. We are prepared to fully refund all deposits and tuition payments. We also acknowledge that this is financially impacting our small ministry in an unprecedented way, and if appropriate for your family you may donate a portion or all of those fees to the Sonlight COVID-19 Relief Fund.
