Phones : Ipads : cameras :

FriendsAt times it seems we are so focused on documenting the moment, we miss the moment. Sonlight is unplugged space, and last weekend I saw kids laughing, kids playing and a few pumpkins and pineapples being dumped outside the dumpster, not inside the dumpster. There were a few cameras, but no phones. I saw a lot of “presence”. Kids and counselors in the moment together, without trying to snap a photo for instagram. How grateful for JT, who’s job for the weekend was to take photos. (Thanks JT!)- we’re so glad to have the photos. But what a joy to see  face-to-face interaction, and not through-a-lens/distracted interaction. The magic of camp. The place where we can be present, and others are present with us.
