Saturday at camp was usual and unusual. Staff training continued in style, with lots of progress in department training, and continuing to get camp ready for summer. But Saturday morning we woke to a smoky sky- at times the smoke and haze so thick we couldn’t see the mountains. High winds kicked up in the afternoon. The Little Sand wildfire is burning several miles west of Sonlight. With the high winds on Saturday, the fire grew significantly, and is currently  more than 2,000 acres. Sonlight leadership is attentive to how the fire is progressing, and we’re praying for effective efforts of the Hotshot and fire management teams that are fighting the fire.
