We love connections!
The Pacific Northwest and beyond: Portland, Seattle and Alaska. In January, Winston and Mary spent some time traveling to connect with Sonlight Alumni, see some family and have some adventure!
While connecting with alumni we picked up some key observations:
- The camp experience stays with you a lifetime. The unique space of community and friends that becomes family is unique in our world
- The skills learned as camp staff are solid skills to have for life. Knowing how to cook and bake, stay organized, live in community and take care of things by maintaining them are invaluable
- Faith encountered at camp is real. And though life journeys have ups and downs, camp provides a space for honest questions and reflections about God. Encountering Jesus face to face changes you for life.
Thanks so much for the conversations and hospitality! Emmi Greer, Jason Short, Stephanie and Richard Bjorkman, Shelley and James (Goodman) Kestner, Anne and Bruce Goodman, David Cassen, Julie Michelsen, Billy Farber, Haley White, Tanner Johnson and Lisa Farber!
