Clear sky at Sonlight this morning. We had a cool night, and winds died down last evening by about 8pm. Reports from the town of Pagosa are smokey, with smoke settling in the valleys. No smoke plume is visible to the north. The West Fork fire has pushed north and east away from us. It is uncontained, and our thoughts and prayers for camps over near South Fork and Creede who have evacuated, as well as all residents in the South Fork area.

12Days on the Divide! The Forest Service has pulled permits for us in the Rio Grande National Forest, so we will be doing an epic trip- crossing the South San Juan Wilderness on the Continental Divide. New territory for Sonlight as we are not routinely permitted in that area.
