Our hearts and prayers with all our friends and family from Los Alamos, NM. The Las Conchas fire started Sunday, and has grown big fast. We have Los Alamos kids and staff at Sonlight this week, it’s a big impact. The smoke at camp this morning is so thick we can’t see the mountains, and it has settled on the meadow. Amazing to see so much smoke from a fire 150+ miles from camp. All staff and camper families are safe, though Los Alamos has been evacuated. Conversations at camp have been uplifting, as kids and staff surround the Los Alamos folks, and offer a listening ear and word of encouragement.
