Thanks Friends!
And once again, our dear friends from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita, KS spent a week with us at Sonlight, preparing the camp for summer. So much cleaning, construction, detail work, office assistance and more. We can’t say thank you enough! With a grant from the Ballentine Foundation in Durango and a generous donation from the First United Methodist Church in Durango, Sonlight is again offering mountain bikes as an option for older kids. (Thanks Pagosa Mountain Sports for working with us to purchase the bikes!.) Our friends from Covenant Presbyterian completed a structure attached to Jack’s Shack for the bikes – so they’ll have a great place out of the weather. Construction of “Dorothy’s Deck” was completed – a conversation space to honor the memory of our dear friend Dorothy Crawford. And all the cleaning and organization of staff cabins, office spaces, some significant clerical work to assist Sara in the office .. and on it goes. We enjoy our friends in this group so much. It was a rainy, cold few days but the work was accomplished. The positive attitudes, and their belief in the ministry of camp. A special thanks to Linda Newland for her organization, fund raising and work to make this trip happen. Thanks Linda!
