Summer 2019 is Sonlight’s 40th summer! Not exactly sure what to say about that, except it’s been quite a ride. Some highlights? Here are a few:
- The privilege of working alongside some of the most amazing college students ever. Who are now parents, community leaders, athletes, teachers, youth directors, pilots and most of all people who bring out the best in others. No matter how they spend their days.
- Building two cabins in one weekend: Hi-Up and E-Dub with a group of 60 volunteers
- Climbing peaks with kids who didn’t think they could do it
- Eating a steady diet of s-mores, hot dogs and sno-cones
- High school dance parties
- Celebrating the little things. Green grass in the meadow. Cold spring water. Campfires. Skits that are actually funny.
- Lifetime friendships
- The dish room. Definitely the dish room.
