Belmont is stuck in the mud

In 1984, we purchased a brand new mobile home for Winston and Mary to live in at Sonlight Camp. The company delivered it to Sonlight on a very rough and muddy road in May. They asked, “where do you want it ?” I told them and we walked to the spot. It was about 500 feet off the road and across a meadow. They decided to back it in position. Easy. It was a naturally flat spot with lots of sunshine. The driver began backing up and was doing a great job. As the rear wheels of the mobile home got off the “road” and onto the grassy meadow the fun began. In less than 100 feet off the road the new Belmont mobile home went straight down in the mud. All 3 axles were buried and the frame was on the ground or the mud. That is as far as she is going today.

We did manage to unhook the mobile home from the delivery truck. The driver took off saying “sorry about that. Good luck.”

About two weeks later, we were able to hire a large bulldozer and connect the mobile home to the dozer. He was able to pull the Belmont forward and around the entire meadow to the position we wanted our new home to live.

Yahoo. We now have a nice house in a beautiful meadow to call home. Don’t mind the mud!
