There is nothing like a good hayride and cookout.

Sonlight had a GMC pickup and a flatbed trailer. Throw in a few bales of hay and you have a fun event in the making. Yes, hayrides at Sonlight Camp. We would spread out a few bales of hay, get some hot dogs, chips and cold drinks and go for a hayride up the road. Three miles total to a beautiful scenic overlook of Hidden Valley. Cool evenings, sunsets over the mountains and a campfire made for a fun evening. Just Mary and I and 60 of our closest camp friends. What fun. We would cook hot dogs, sing songs with the guitar, have skits and laugh. Then, we would drench the fire with water, load up the hay wagon and slowly ride back to camp. Kids would be laughing, with their legs over the edge of the wagon and making memories of camp. There would always be a trail of hay on the road as the kids had hay fights on the way back to Sonlight.

At some point, Sonlight upgraded from a truck to a tractor to pull the hay wagon. What fun times we had.
