Front flips off the Staff room roof into the deep snow.

Yes, Sonlight used to have very deep snows in the winter months. Four feet was not uncommon. One New Year’s a high school youth group from First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, with youth leader Jake ., came to Sonlight for a “work day” to have a major bonfire and burn brush. Their youth leader (who was a former Sonlight staffer) decided it would be fun to do forward flips off the ridge of the staff room into the deep snows on the north side of the building. Deep snow! So, Jake walked up the snow slides to the top of the staff room, along the ridge to the north end and voila, front flips from the top of the roof into the deep snow on the ground. Wow!

A new sport is born at Sonlight.
