It’s hard to believe that we are already looking at the last half of summer. This week as we host the Diocese of Victoria youth they rhythm is different for Sonlight staff. We provide meals and some activities, but the youth staff do all the programming. We are able to give our staff some extra days off, a nice way to recharge for the rest of the summer. The Catholic youth have had a great week, exploring their faith and how to live it in their world. They’ve played hard, gone rafting, enjoyed time around the campfire, watched the big Colorado night sky full of stars and daily they are grateful for the cool Colorado climate. We will be sad to see them depart for Texas on Saturday morning, but we look forward to our Sonlight High School camp next week.
The Sonlight High School backpack trip is this week. Guided by Caleb and Josh, they are up on the trail from Elwood Pass to Quartz Lake. A great week for a trip, the wildflowers should be in full bloom.
