2016 is an ACA Visit Year for Sonlight

Sonlight is an American Camp Association (ACA) Accredited camp, visited every 3 years to ensure we meet or exceed the standards of practice set by ACA. We started the preparation for our 2016 visit this fall, pulling out all the paperwork reviewing documentation we’ll need to get in place. Winston and Chelsea spent a morning at an ACA Standards Update course, learning about new changes to standards and what Sonlight needs to do to comply.

“ACA Accreditation means that a camp cares enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of our operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at your child’s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.”
