Our annual American Camp Association conference at Sanborn Western Camps in Florissant, Colorado. Winston, Mary and Chelsea will spend a great few days of connecting with our colleagues in the camp world. Our time is spent learning trends in youth education, getting updates on regulations and taking notes on the changes in our Accreditation standards. Winston and Mary have some very dear camp friends we love to connect with. After 37 years in camping, a group of us are still directing camps, and still passionate about youth and all that camp has to offer. We love meeting the folks new to camping and being inspired by their energy.
Our keynote speaker is Chicka Elloy, and setting the stage for his topic:
“Coming from the complex social world into the relational experience of camp can be a turbulent ride. We expect our campers, parents and staff to understand how to bridge that gap when they may not be equipped to do it on their own. This keynote explores current realities and challenges we face and how we can take steps to bridge the gap in the future.”
