The Magic of Summer Camp
We knew it all along! Camp is a unique space in our world, where real life happens. The Huffington Post ran an article this week, outlining all that we live and know. Friendships are created which last a life time. Kids are allowed to be who they are. Sonlight has beautiful mountains, great activities, messy games, mountain bikes and all sorts of fun. But it is the memories created in the laughter, memories created in being real with one another that stay with us. It is the quiet space in the meadow, or the campfire crackling under the stars as we share the struggles from back home, and learn that we are not alone. It is the speakers who stir us to think about our place in this vast world, who created us, and about the God who loves us so dearly. It is about the Jesus we see in the counselors and in those around us. Camp is magic. We knew it all along.
