Sonlight Donors Make a Difference
It takes resources to be an impactful ministry that endures. Your support helps Sonlight be generous, impactful and resilient. It allows us to keep mission at the center of our decisions.
Our project list was robust in 2024, and the donation of time, labor and funds was significant:

- $49,323+ was given out in scholarships so families with financial need could attend camp
- 7 decks were replaced (thanks youth and adults from the United Church of Los Alamos)
- 22 new composite Adirondack chairs look great on the new decks
- The window project was completed, new windows in HighUp, EastinWestin the kitchen and office (Faithful volunteers from Wichita, Kansas)
- A new entrance sign is in the planning stages (thanks for the graphics Tyler Cowan)
- The Sonlight Give Sonlight to the Next Generation Endowment grew to $2.3 million, both through investment returns and new donations
- Trails were raked / bikes maintained / firewood cut / fresh coats of paint here and there / lots of cleaning accomplished
The 2025 project list is emerging!

- The climbing wall will get an upgrade. New facing panels will be installed, the top deck replaced and a new access system for staff to climb the backside to set ropes
- $20,000 estimate for the climbing wall upgrade. $20,000 has been raised as of 11/16/2024
- Plans are emerging for an upgrade to the surface around the campfire circle. (We’ll keep you posted!) Estimate of $5,000 needed.
- The scholarship fund will continue to support those who have financial need
- Hammock village will be relocated to a nearby location / with upgrades to the structure
Every donation is significant. From the mom who donates $10/month to the Family Foundations contributing to the Endowment, and everything in between. The Sonlight community is making an impact on youth thanks to you!
