The Best of Fall at Sonlight! The aspen turn gold, pumpkin muffins are in the oven and we love the connections with our retreat groups. Women’s retreats, a mens retreat and youth retreats fill our fall weekends. Most of our groups return each fall, the longest standing reservation for a fall group is 35+ years.

The fall also brings camp conference season, the Sonlight leadership team will attend the regional Rocky Mountain American Camp Association conference, a great time for connecting with our camp colleagues, sharing trends in the camping world, learning about legislation impacting camps and exploring trends in youth development. Our time with camp colleagues is invaluable.

Change in the Making

Summer 45 is in the history books, and we know that this summer Sonlight provided a much needed oasis of connection, laughter, love and calm apart from a world that is sorely lacking in those qualities. This new season brings a leadership shift at Sonlight Camp, and with it some balance to the workload as well as fresh perspective on all aspects of camp. Henry Stam has joined our leadership team as Hospitality Director, this position adds depth to the organizational structure of Sonlight as we continue along the path of moving from founders to the next generation. Henry has been connected with Sonlight since he was a middle school camper, and has spent many years on summer staff as a counselor, speaker and working behind the scenes. Henry and his wife Natalie now call Sonlight home year round.

Mary Marugg continues as Director. Winston Marugg continues to find joy in his role as Property Steward and Backpack Coordinator. Becca Meyer workes remotely as our Administrative Assistant and Registrar.

Fall finds our Program Director, Claire, deep into planning for summer 2025. Camp dates, staff positions, themes and all things summer camp. So much to look forward to! Summer 2025 dates are posted, registration opens January 2.
