Staff training is wrapped up, and we’re in the opening week of summer camp. The kids are here, and it all makes sense. For 10 days, 20+ summer staff joined the leadership staff at Sonlight, and we’ve been focusing on “Why Camp?”. We’ve practiced the routines that make Sonlight hum, learned the regulations that govern a Colorado kids camp, and joined together in worship and prayer as we planned for kids. We realize as we work and play, that when we serve as God has gifted us to serve, it’s easy to be joyful and find laughter in the tasks we do every day.
There’s no better place than camp. A place to be yourself. A place to find new friends. A place where folks appreciate you for who you are. A place apart from the routines of our troubled world. A place where you can see the best reflected in those around you.
