High School 2 camp this week! A pleasure to have so many returning campers, as well as some new folks here as well. Thanks Seth Finch for being our speaker.
We're working on a new look for the 'what's new' page- and thought it would be up by now, which is why the lack of posts on this page. Now we're looking at the end of the week. "It helps, now and then, to step back and take a long view. The kingdom is not only beyond our efforts, it is beyond our vision. We accomplish in our lifetime only a fraction of the magnificient enterprise that is God's work....."

Agents of Change..... Mission Identity: On Monday, our speaker Rob adressed our identity. Are you who you want to be? Are you becoming who God wants you to be? Tuesday we talked about challenges. Secret agents have challenges they need to overcome. God never promised a life without conflict. Today we talked about backups. Agents have lots of gadgets. They have lots of people backing them up. Who is backing you up? The success of a mission depends on the community you surround yourself with, and people who have your back. Folks you can rely on.
Staff agents had a mission yesterday: Bring snow from Wolf Creek pass for a snowball fight. Two huge truckloads. Then came the snow people.

Community: People who are collectively experiencing life together" A pretty solid definition of what we do at Sonlight. In one week we eat, play, worship, clean up and work together. We listen, we share burdens. We laugh and share accomplishments. A priviledge to share so much.

Legacy. Our theme for staff training. Everything we as a staff do this summer, weaves in to the fabric of the history of Sonlight. We have some big footsteps to follow, knowing that we'll not only follow some traditions that are important, but we'll create our own path as well. Summer 2010 is off to an amazing start, with rich staff training, fun and serious learning. 3 days until kids arrive - the day we anxiously wait for.
