annual report

Help build the scholarship fund! Sonlight operates with a balanced budget. We offer subsidized camp tuitions and scholarships to keep camp affordable to all. For 2012 we anticipate the need for $44,000 for scholarships and subsidies. No gift is too big or too small. You may always make an undesignated donation and we'll apply it where needed.

196 campers received scholarships/subsidized tuition in 2011, totaling $33,331. Thanks to everyone who contributed, so these funds were available!

Contributions may be designated for:

  • Scholarships and subsidies
  • Continuing Education for Staff
  • Bricks and Mortar Donation - for facility and maintenance
  • Undesignated Donations

Community. Genuine relationship. A place to put kids in the presence of God. Unplugged space.

The foundation of everything we do - creating community. Providing a safe place for kids to be kids. Being with kids, and showing them God. Through worship, Bible study, games, activities and food, we believe in kids and desire that they know they are loved.

32 seasons of Sonlight. This place is possible only through the contributions from many, many people:

  • Generous donations of time from individuals, workgroups
  • Special projects by individuals
  • Financial contributions
  • The choice of the highest tier of camp tuition
  • Contributions to the scholarship fund
  • Board members who volunteer their time and money
  • Praying for Sonlight, the staff and the campers

Our "30-4-30" campaign (2009), raised funds to sustain Sonlight, adding to financial stability to our next 30 years. Undesignated donations have been saved to move into the future, as we anticipate facility maintenance and the expense of increased regulation. Some "Sustain Sonlight" funds spent are listed below. We invite you to continue the journey with us.
